Do you have trait data for tropical or sub-tropical aquatic plant species?
Do you have trait data not currently captured in the MAP Database?
Are you planning or partaking in field work that may result in new trait data?
Do you have access to grey literature or rare/unique datasets containing aquatic plant traits?
We are currently welcoming Collaborators from around the world with different interests and backgrounds in aquatic plants. Potential contributions could be but are not limited to: trait data not covered by our current database, distributional data from the tropics or sub-tropics or adding new trait data from the grey literature or via fieldwork. The list of species and trait coverage gives an indication of the current data gaps and missing trait coverage in the MAP Database.
If you would like to be involved in the collection, publication, and further work on a global overview of the functional architecture of freshwater plants, please read the Collaborator Guidelines page and then complete the MAP Collaborator form. After submitting the MAP Collaborator form, the MAP Coordinators will reach out to you to discuss next steps for your data contribution.
Individuals interested in collaborating on the MAP Project must complete the MAP Collaborator form by December 31, 2024.
Please do not hesitate to contact the MAP Coordinators (via lindsay.trottier@mail.mcgill.ca, or panyingji@iga.ac.cn if you prefer to communicate in Chinese) if you have any questions about the MAP Project.
